Education Excellence Awards

Rosehill Secondary College Numeracy Team, along with Copperfield College and Taylor’s Lakes Numeracy Teams, was nominated for ‘The Outstanding School Leadership Team’ award in the Victorian Education Awards. I am pleased to announce that we were successful in winning the prize of $20,000 to be shared across the three schools. This is an outstanding award and is in recognition of many hours of collaborative Maths Curriculum and lesson planning. The money will go to further professional development in the Numeracy area to ensure that our maths teaching is up to modern educational practices. The award has attracted a great deal of publicity with a major piece in the Age newspaper on 17th May.

The College Leadership Team believes that working with other Secondary Schools is an important and effective way to improve teaching and learning in all schools. As well as our award winning Numeracy program, our Science Department is benefitting from working with the Science Department at Strathmore Secondary College in the more effective design and delivery of Science in our schools. We are in the second year of the program and we hope to engage our students more in the subject right across the College.
