English as an Additional Language (EAL) Program

Rosehill Secondary College has developed a number of programs to support our international students’ learning of English. Our English as an Additional Language (EAL) Program provides:

  • Small class sizes for optimum learning opportunities
  • Small group tuition for all students identified as requiring EAL assistance
  • A whole school approach to EAL learning environment
  • Extra individual support for some EAL students
  • Bridging EAL
  • Mainstream English classes for advanced EAL students
  • Access to computer network and multi-media resources

Rosehill Secondary College staff support students and their families through their learning journey offering an environment that is both encouraging and rewarding.

Our highly trained staff know how to motivate and empower your children to achieve all that they can through a very professional and realistic curriculum delivered in a purposefully and professional manner. We pride ourselves on offering programs that are both challenging and rewarding.


After enrolment, students are grouped according to their level of English, age and prior schooling. Classes are kept small to ensure that students can receive the optimum amount of assistance from the teacher.


The teaching program is carried out in English by an experienced EAL teachers with knowledge in teaching classes with mixed ages, abilities, and cultural backgrounds.

Students receive intensive instruction and are exposed to a curriculum designed in preparing them for mainstream schooling and life in Australian society.
