Welcome to Rosehill Secondary College.

Established in 1959, the college has provided high quality education for students in the Moonee Valley area incorporating the suburbs of Niddrie, Essendon West and surrounds for many years. As a school of choice in our local area, we embrace and encourage a strong academic focus and work ethic that consistently provides all students with outstanding pathways to tertiary education, traineeships and the workforce.

We pride ourselves on nurturing and developing our College values of Respect, Initiative and Learning. These values are underpinned by our leading role in the School Wide Positive Behaviours in Schools program. Our calm and nurturing environment is reinforced by consistent and effective student management and teaching teams and is further supported by an outstanding and committed workforce consisting of a balance of highly experienced and graduate teachers, a visible Principal Class and committed Education Support Staff.

We offer an extensive curriculum and place value in all key areas of learning. Our unique structure allows us to provide equal teaching time for all learning areas, as we understand and appreciate that students possess varied interests, abilities and strengths. We not only encourage our students to value their academic success, but also offer, nurture and support students in taking on leadership opportunities. By offering students a variety of possibilities we see achievements in fundraising, sporting prowess, visual, performing arts and music programs, our extension programs such as STEP, writing competitions and debating to name a few, all of which help to build independence, confidence and students’ awareness of self and their impact on others.

Whilst excellent results are a key feature of Rosehill Secondary College, as a school community we celebrate and acknowledge a broader definition of success. We strive to fashion a love of learning, to foster respect for others, build resilience, perseverance and to prepare our students for the challenges of the future. We aim to make our students conscientious and thoughtful world citizens who will contribute positively to our future. Our staff understand and appreciate the moral purpose they have in their chosen profession and work tirelessly to assist our students be their very best.
Rosehill Secondary College is a great place to be; on behalf of our students and staff, I welcome you to our school and encourage you to book a tour.
